Senior Data Engineer (Uniform Data Lake)

Introduction 36 hours per week Start date: 04 January 2027 End date: 30 June 2027 Extension is possible ZZP is allowed Hybrid way of work The relocation is not possible for this role Function We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help accelerate the adoption of our Uniform Data Lake by building data consumption layers for business domains across the organisation. While the core data engineering team is responsible for sourcing, cleansing, transforming and publishing data products into the data lake, this role focuses on making that data readily consumable for reporting, analytics and operational use cases. Key Responsibilities Power BI Data Stores – Design and implement dimensional data models optimized for Power BI consumption. – Develop and maintain data pipelines, orchestration logic, scheduling mechanisms and monitoring. – Implement data quality controls, validation rules and automated checks. – Ensure high performance, scalability and maintainability of reporting datasets.

Marketing Data Enablement – Design and build data structures tailored to marketing use cases. – Create and maintain integrations between the Uniform Data Lake and marketing technology platforms. – Ensure data consistency, quality and accessibility across marketing data consumers. – Support marketing stakeholders in defining consumption requirements. Operations & Risk Data Products – Develop pre-integrated datasets and analytical data stores for Operations and Risk teams. – Enable self-service operational reporting by exposing standardized and trusted datasets. – Collaborate with business users to define reusable reporting structures and metrics. – Ensure alignment with enterprise data governance requirements.

What Success Looks Like – Business domains have access to trusted, scalable and well-governed datasets. – Power BI teams can build reporting solutions on standardized dimensional models. – Marketing platforms are seamlessly connected to governed data products. – Operations and Risk teams are empowered through reusable self-service datasets. – All solutions adhere to the architecture and standards of the Uniform Data Lake Requirements Technical Skills – Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a data consumption, analytics or reporting-focused environment. – Strong experience building dimensional models and data marts. – Hands-on experience with AWS-based data platforms and services. – Experience designing and operating ETL/ELT pipelines. – Strong understanding of data quality, monitoring and operational excellence practices. – Experience with orchestration, scheduling and event-driven data processing.
