Freelance Technical Program Manager - ServiceNow

For one of our clients, we are looking for an experienced freelance Technical Program Manager with a strong background in ServiceNow, IT Service Management, and enterprise-scale technology delivery. This role is focused on driving complex ServiceNow implementations, establishing governance across multiple stakeholders, and acting as the bridge between business users and engineering teams. The successful candidate will help translate requirements into deliverable solutions while ensuring milestones, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations are effectively managed.

Contract Details

• Initial 6-month freelance contract with a strong likelihood of extension
• Capacity-driven hire to support team growth and improve delivery outcomes
• Start date: ASAP, with programme kick-off scheduled immediately
• Hybrid delivery environment combining Agile ways of working with structured milestone governance

Key Responsibilities

• Drive medium to large-scale, complex ServiceNow implementation programmes
• Establish governance frameworks and delivery structures across multiple teams
• Act as the translator between business stakeholders and engineering teams
• Identify gaps between technical solutions and business expectations
• Coordinate delivery plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and escalations
• Manage programme reporting, RAID logs, decision logs, and status updates
• Maintain and track delivery activities through Jira and Confluence

Support ServiceNow capabilities including:

• ITSM
• SLA management
• KPI reporting
• Workflow automation
• Service management processes
• Coordinate testing, UAT, operational readiness, and business handover
• Drive stakeholder alignment and influence decisions without direct authority
• Support adoption of ServiceNow innovations, including Now Assist (ServiceNow AI) where applicable
• Ensure solutions move successfully from requirements through implementation into BAU operations

What We Are Looking For
Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager or Senior Program Manager
• Minimum 3 years of delivering enterprise-level implementation programmes
• Strong programme governance and delivery management experience
• Experience working across engineering, product, and business stakeholder groups
• Ability to structure ambiguous work and drive execution independently
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Excellent communication and reporting capabilities
• Strong Jira and Confluence experience

Highly Desirable

• ServiceNow implementation experience
• ServiceNow ITSM knowledge
• Experience translating business requirements into technical delivery backlogs
• Regulatory, banking, or financial services experience
• European banking experience
• Experience with hybrid Agile and traditional milestone-driven delivery models

Preferred Certifications

• PMP Certification
• PMI Certifications
• Agile Project or Programme Management certification
• ITIL Foundation or higher
• ServiceNow Certification
• Prosci Certification (advantageous)
