System Administrator

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate the IT environments supporting the CRS Branch.
• Provide technical service support to CQO customers, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service-related issues.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Microsoft operating systems and associated tools and technologies.
• Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows and Windows Server environments, including related infrastructure components.
• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts and automation solutions.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of system and service malfunctions and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Develop, implement and improve IT services and technical solutions within the CRS environment.
• Maintain and support Active Directory, ADFS, WSUS and MECM environments.
• Implement and maintain automated configuration management solutions using technologies such as Ansible, Puppet and/or Chef.
• Support and maintain CI/CD processes and associated automation.
• Work with virtualisation technologies, including VMware and/or OpenStack.
• Collaborate with colleagues and technical stakeholders to ensure stable, secure and effective service delivery.

Required Expertise & Qualifications

• Technical engineering degree, such as Electronics Engineering or Information Systems, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-graduate experience as a System Administrator; or
• Secondary educational qualification with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience as a System Administrator.
• Practical, hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft Windows and Windows Server
  • WSUS
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
  • Active Directory
  • ADFS
  • PowerShell
• Proven experience developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts.
• Experience with automated configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet and/or Chef.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft Windows server and end-user environments.
• Knowledge and practical experience with VMware and/or OpenStack.
• Experience maintaining and supporting CI/CD processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET clearance is mandatory.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with UNIX-based operating systems, particularly RHEL and/or Oracle.
• Experience with container technologies.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience providing service support for IaaS and PaaS environments.

Location: The Hague, Netherlands
Working arrangement: Primarily on-site, with flexibility to work from home when required
