IOS Software Engineer (For intedependent contractors)

Please note, this is a 6 month assignment for freelancers.

Native Display Ads team’s primary objective is to develop promotional solutions for Booking.com partners, such as Hotel Chains and Destination Marketing Organisations. We build a system that allows them to target their desired audience among Booking.com visitors, displaying relevant ads across various web pages of our web site.

We also provide tools for partners to build custom landing pages that the user lands after he clicks on the ad banner.

Key specifics of our team are:

• Extensive integrations with a diverse array of services and components within and beyond Booking.com. We collaborate closely with owners of B.com pages on which we place our ads, with teams that provide audience segmentation tools and destination details. We integrate with Google Ad Manager to display our ads and with third-party CMS Contentful to configure ad campaigns’ landing pages;

  
  

• Focus on making various hypothesis about how we can make our ads more relevant to user and more valuable for partners and being able to test those hypothesis quickly;

  
  

• Large amount of technical research required to develop and launch new evolving products.

We are looking for an iOS Software Engineer II to help us implement integration of Native Display Ads with Booking.com mobile application.

A Software Engineer II owns the execution of technical elements in the Booking.com tech stack, products and processes.

They are responsible for the implementation of technical solutions based on business requirements, they can estimate the effort and impact of the items they work on, and show a high quality of craft in what they deliver.

A Software Engineer II understands the quality of test automation is as important as the production code and spends time refactoring both to ensure ease of change enabling a sustainable pace of development.

Software Engineer II are expected to work together with colleagues in other job roles to design, prioritise and implement technical tasks. Because the required technical skills and commercial knowledge can vary from one business unit to another, a Software Engineer II can focus on multiple types of work from product features to infrastructure automation, frameworks, tooling or services.

Responsibilities:

Building software applications

• Is responsible to build software applications by using relevant development languages and applying knowledge of systems, services and tools appropriate for the business areaIs responsible to write readable and reusable code by applying standard patterns and using standard libraries

• Is responsible to refactor and simplify code by introducing design patterns when necessaryIs responsible to ensure the quality of the application by following standard testing techniques and methods that adhere to the test strategyIs responsible to maintain data security, integrity and quality by effectively following company standards and best practices
