About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Procurement Manager Raw Materials to lead our global direct procurement portfolio across three international manufacturing sites in the Netherlands and China.
In this high-impact leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, driving procurement excellence, ensuring supply continuity, and delivering sustainable cost improvements across raw materials spend portfolio of approximately €70 million.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Procurement, Operations, R&D, Quality, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain to create value, manage risk, drive innovation, and build strategic supplier partnerships that support long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Leadership

• Develop and execute global procurement strategies for raw materials across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Build and implement long-term sourcing roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Drive procurement transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with group procurement policies, standards, and governance requirements.

Supplier & Category Management

• Lead strategic supplier relationship management activities across the global supplier base.
• Build strong partnerships with key suppliers and manage executive-level supplier engagement.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while ensuring uninterrupted supply.
• Drive innovation through collaboration between suppliers, R&D, and business stakeholders.

Commercial & Contract Management

• Lead complex commercial negotiations and high-value supplier agreements.
• Oversee RFQ processes and contract lifecycle management.
• Ensure contract compliance and consistency across regions.
• Manage supplier claims and commercial disputes in partnership with Legal and business stakeholders.

Cost & Productivity Delivery

• Own procurement productivity targets across the raw materials portfolio.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and value engineering.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable cost reduction programs.
• Monitor market developments and commodity trends to support informed procurement decisions.

Risk Management & Supply Assurance

• Develop and implement commodity risk management strategies.
• Collaborate with Finance on hedging and forward-buying initiatives.
• Ensure supply continuity across all manufacturing locations.
• Create mitigation plans for market volatility, supplier risk, and geopolitical challenges.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of procurement professionals.
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative procurement culture.
• Build strong relationships with Plant Leadership Teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Support key business decisions related to new product development, CAPEX projects, and growth initiatives.

What You Bring

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 7-10+ years of procurement experience within an international manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience in direct materials procurement.
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and complex negotiations.
• Experience managing international supplier networks and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience within the dairy, nutrition, food, pharmaceutical, or related regulated industry is highly preferred. [
