Role Purpose The CapEx Controller is responsible and supports providing financial control, governance, reporting, and assurance over the Company's capital investment portfolio. The role ensures that capital projects are accurately planned, approved, monitored, capitalised, and reported in accordance with internal governance requirements, applicable accounting standards, and delegated authorities. The CapEx Controller acts as a key business partner to Project Management and Controls, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance teams to support effective capital allocation, delivery of investment benefits, and compliance with the CapEx governance framework. This includes oversight of project approvals, budgets, forecasts, project expenditure, capitalisation, close-out activities, and reporting to senior management. ________________________________________ Key Accountabilities Capital Governance & Control Ensure compliance with the CapEx Manual, stage-gate process, and delegated authority framework.

Review and challenge capital project submissions, cost estimates, business cases, and approval documentation. Monitor adherence to approved project scope, budget, schedule, and governance requirements. Support quarterly and annual capital planning processes. Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis Coordinate and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual capital expenditure and cash reporting as well as forecasting. Analyse capital spends for cost and cash against approved budgets and forecasts. Identify project risks, cost overruns, underperformance, and funding constraints. Prepare and provide inputs into management reports and investment portfolio dashboards. Support Board, Executive Committee, and Capital Review reporting requirements.

Project and Capital Financial Management Review project costs for correct accounting treatment and capitalisation eligibility. Monitor Assets Under Construction (AUC) balances and ageing. Ensure timely transfer of completed projects from AUC to fixed assets. Validate project close-out documentation and financial reconciliations. Drive resolution of aged or dormant projects. Accounting & Compliance Ensure compliance with IFRS and Company accounting policies relating to capital expenditure. Support impairment assessments and asset life reviews where required. Assist internal and external auditors with capital project reviews. Forecasting & Portfolio Optimisation Challenge business forecasts and improve forecast accuracy.

Perform variance analysis against Annual Plan and approved project budgets. Support prioritisation of capital investments and resource allocation decisions. Identify opportunities to improve capital efficiency and governance processes. Stakeholder Management Act as a trusted finance partner for Project Management and Controls, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance teams. Provide financial guidance and training on CapEx procedures and governance requirements. Facilitate communication between project teams and Finance leadership. ________________________________________ Knowledge & Experience Essential Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering Finance, or equivalent. Strong understanding of: o Capital expenditure control o Budgeting and forecasting o Fixed asset accounting o IFRS/IAS standards (especially IAS 16, IAS 36 and IFRS 16) Experience with SAP and financial reporting systems.

Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills. Preferred Experience in capital project controlling, financial planning, project accounting, or investment governance. Professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, RA, RC or equivalent). Experience within heavy industry, manufacturing, engineering, mining, steel, chemicals or infrastructure projects. Knowledge of FEL/stage-gate project delivery methodologies.
