Business & Finance Controller - Focus on IT and Data & Analytics domains

We are seeking a data-savvy and experienced Business Controller, with a strong focus on Controlling for IT and Data & Analytics domains. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly grasp ongoing activities during the handover period, connect the dots across complex topics, and confidently interact with stakeholders at all levels.

The role requires solid experience in both Business and Finance Controlling, with a proven track record in:

• Business Controlling for IT Run and Change, Data & Analytics: Understanding and explaining actuals versus budget for IT and analytics spend, analyzing root causes of underrun and overrun, and supporting the consolidation and forecasting process specific to these areas.
• Cost Deep Dives & Spend Monitoring: Preparing detailed cost deep dive documentation, creating overviews and dashboards for spend monitoring versus budget, and translating insights into actionable recommendations for decision-makers.
• FTE Monitoring: Tracking and analyzing FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) allocations and trends, ensuring workforce-related spend is aligned with budget and organizational objectives.
• Financial Products: Affinity with and basic understanding of banking products, including business loans and mortgages, with a particular focus on their impact on financial statements.
• Finance Controlling: Managing accruals, adjustments, cost allocation, and other core finance controlling activities.
• Capex and Opex: Strong knowledge of Capex and Opex definitions, with the ability to classify and track expenditures accurately.
• Transformation Experience: Supporting transformation initiatives, process improvements, and change management within controlling functions.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders, including IT, analytics, finance, and business teams, to gather inputs, clarify requirements, and communicate findings.
• Complex Organizational Navigation: Navigating ambiguous, evolving processes and incomplete documentation with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to bring clarity and structure to complex and sometimes unclear situations. Experience with dashboards, spend analysis, and transformation initiatives in a complex, matrixed environment is essential.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in business controlling and/or finance controlling roles in the banking industry.
• Strong analytical skills and high proficiency with data (Excel, BI tools, ERP systems).
• Demonstrated ability to understand and explain financial variances, root causes, and business impacts.
• Solid understanding of consolidation and forecasting processes.
• Experience with accruals, adjustments, and cost allocation.
• Proven ability to work effectively in complex, matrixed organizations with incomplete processes or documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with all levels of the organization.
• Proactive, resourceful, and solution-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Exact and Tagetik.
• Track record of process improvement and transformation in controlling functions.
