Omschrijving
About TenneT, the Unit, Department and Team
TenneT is a leading European Transmission System Operator and plays a key role in the energy transition. With more than 23,500 km of high-voltage connections and nearly 5,000 employees, we ensure a safe and reliable electricity supply in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany.
You will be working within one of TenneT’s project organizations responsible for the realization of large-scale infrastructure offshore projects, the 2GW Program. Within this environment, you will collaborate closely with package leads, quality coordinators, engineering disciplines and external (sub-) contractors, suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements throughout the manufacturing phase.
The activities within this role contribute directly to the modernization, expansion and sustainability of the Dutch high-voltage grid.
Introduction
At TenneT, we are working on the electricity grid of tomorrow. As an Inspector (Structural / Welding / Coating / Mechanical), you play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of vendor-manufactured equipment and components that support a future-proof energy system. Through your expertise, you directly contribute to projects that keep the Netherlands powered today and in the future.
Large Projects Offshore (LPO)
Based on the Energy agreement, where the targets and intentions for the transition to a more renewable energy supply are set, the Roadmap Offshore wind energy 2030 and the ambition to realise additional windcapacity prior to 2030 a roll-out strategy is being prepared for the medium term, including the IJmuiden Ver (DC) projects. This results in a commitment for TenneT to realise at least 2x (with potential up to 5) 2GW HVDC Grid Connection Systems which bring the power from offshore wind-farms in the North sea to the Dutch electricity grid to be commissioned between 2028 – 2030.
The 2GW program
Europe’s energy transition is among the greatest challenges of our time. Its goal: To make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 at the latest. The Netherlands and Germany have therefore set themselves ambitious goals to expand offshore wind energy: as early as 2030, Germany and the Netherlands want to reach a capacity of 30 and 22.2 Gigawatts, respectively. Energy from offshore wind farms in the European powerhouse North Sea will play in this a crucial role. TenneT guarantees that this energy will reach the mainland – and in the most environmentally friendly way possible. That is why we have developed the 2GW program with a unique transnational approach. And thus increase the pace and efficiency of the energy transition.
Tasks and responsibilities
Your responsibilities include:
Supporting Package Leads (SPL) and the QC Coordinator in reviewing quality deliverables such as as-built documentation, punch lists and other vendor documentation against Employer’s Requirements. Supporting structural, welding, coating and mechanical disciplines with quality-related issues and documentation. Monitoring the execution of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) as specified in Inspection Notifications during the vendor manufacturing phase. Performing welding, coating, mechanical inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) on behalf of TenneT based on a risk-based inspection schedule.
