Details: For a temporary period ending on 31 December 2026. This role follows a hybrid working model, with employees generally expected to work from the office two days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). The preferred working week is 36 hours.

At Rabobank, we're building a more consistent and scalable digital experience across our products and services. Designers across the organisation rely on recurring design patterns to create accessible, intuitive and coherent experiences.

The Rabobank Design System is mature, but at a pattern/platform convention level there is still work to be done. Many of these patterns already exist, but the knowledge behind them is scattered across different files, implemented products, historical decisions and individual expertise.

To help us scale design quality and consistency, we're looking for an experienced designer who can transform distributed knowledge into a shared source of truth. You'll help establish design knowledge and make standards easier to find, understand and apply across teams.

Your role As a designer for Digital Platform, you will work within the Platform team within Chapter Design to document, structure and standardize reusable design patterns across Rabobank's digital ecosystem. Your primary mission is document and organise existing design knowledge, so it becomes reusable by designers, product teams and stakeholders. You will help reduce duplicated discovery work, make trade-offs explicit and create practical guidance that enables teams to make better-informed design decisions.

Your responsibilities Review existing patterns, design standards and platform guidelines across products and teams; Identify and analyse key knowledge sources, including designers, stakeholders, Figma files, implemented journeys and existing documentation; Define documentation templates, required fields, quality criteria and writing guidelines; Document high-priority UX patterns, including: o Purpose and rationale o Usage guidance o Accessibility considerations o Interaction principles o Trade-offs and constraints o Product examples Create connections between patterns, journeys, components and related documentation; Make conflicting implementations, missing decisions and ownership gaps visible; Advise on which knowledge areas and patterns may require further standardisation or design exploration in the future; Ensure documentation is both human-readable and suitable for AI-assisted discovery and retrieval.

Your talent We are looking for someone who combines systems thinking, structured documentation and strong design craft. You know how to make complexity understandable and help organisations scale knowledge without introducing unnecessary process.

5+ years of experience in UX Design, Design Systems, Service Design or a related design discipline; Experience documenting design systems, UX patterns, interaction standards or reusable product guidance; Strong systems-thinking skills…
