Interim HR Business Partner Role – Booking.com ABU (Accommodations Business Unit)

In the midst of an organizational transformation with a significant people impact, Booking.com is looking to temporarily strengthen the HR Advisory team to support the business through the transition, as well as ensuring the business continues to receive support as they achieve their ambitious business objectives.

The HR Business Partner team for ABU plays a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the strategic HR direction within the business unit. The team works closely with (senior) leadership to drive organizational strategy, implement transformative HR initiatives, and ensure alignment with business objectives in a fast-paced, innovative, and highly regulated environment.

This assignment will require a hands-on professional to be able to support the existing HR Advisory team and act as a partner for the LPS (Local Partner Services) team within ABU business unit on a tactical and strategic level, as they navigate through a period of transition. LPS is spread across 42 countries in EMEA, the remit for this role will be Northern, Central and Eastern Europe. The main goals will be to own preparation and implementation of the organisational change and build a quick understanding of needs in the longer term, while ensuring a smooth running of the day to day business.

Key Responsibilities of the HRA team, which will need to be supported by the Interim Professional:

Strategic Partnering:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to (senior) leaders within the Local Partner Services (LPS) team.


  • Influence and drive the development of organizational strategies, including organizational design, strategic workforce planning, talent management, and leadership development.


  • Collaborate with leaders to formulate and execute HR plans that drive organizational performance and growth.

Leadership Development:

  • Coach and advise (senior) leaders on people-related matters to enhance leadership effectiveness and align leadership behavior with organizational values & goals.


  • Facilitate leadership alignment and executive transitions, driving succession planning for critical roles.


  • Be the cultural ambassador, driving initiatives to embed Booking.com’s values, mindsets and leadership expectations across the business .

Change Management:

  • Lead and manage change initiatives within the LPS team to enhance organizational agility and resilience through business transformation.


  • Develop strategies for effective communication and engagement during organizational changes to ensure minimal disruption & maximize the adoption of the change.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to provide data-driven insights for strategic decision-making and measure the impact of HR initiatives.


  • Participate in business planning cycles, contributing HR expertise to shape the business strategy.

HR Regulation:

  • Ensure compliance with local and international employment laws and regulations, guiding leadership in understanding and implementing HR policies.


  • Drive the application of HR policies and procedures to align with strategic objectives.


  • Manage complex employee relations matters, providing resolution and support in line with best practices and legal requirements.
