Position

Title: AI Technician (Assembly & Integration)
Employer: Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands
Location: Leiden / Oestgeest area
Working time: 40 hours per week

Role summary

You will assemble and integrate high‑tech aerospace hardware according to detailed work instructions and quality standards, working in a multidisciplinary team to contribute to the production and testing of advanced space systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble and integrate aerospace hardware following technical work instructions and quality procedures.
  • Perform mechanical assembly activities with precision and accuracy.
  • Use digital work instructions and production systems via tablets and other computer applications.
  • Carry out inspections and ensure work meets aerospace quality standards.
  • Identify and report technical deviations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians, engineers and the Team Leader to achieve project milestones.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment in accordance with procedures.
  • Support testing and integration activities where required.

  • Hands‑on, practical mindset with strong technical affinity.

  • Eager to learn and motivated to work in the aerospace industry.
  • Proactive, reliable and able to work independently when required.
  • Comfortable working in a highly regulated production environment.

Requirements

  • MBO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an assembly or production environment.
  • Experience within the aerospace industry or a comparable high‑tech manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with digital production systems or tablets.
  • Good command of Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • Available 40 hours per week and willing to work fully on‑site in Leiden.
  • No freelance arrangements (employment via detavast/detachering as applicable).
