Interim Financial Accountant French speaking

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and reconcile high volumes of bank transactions using advanced Excel, with a focus on the French territory
• Build, maintain, and optimize complex Excel models to support reconciliation and reporting processes
• Use functions such as XLOOKUP, INDEX, and advanced filtering to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy
• Leverage Power Query and Power Pivot to transform, structure, and manage large datasets efficiently
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences, ensuring reliable and timely cash positions
• Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities and international operations
• Apply solid accounting principles (debit/credit logic, balance sheet understanding) in all analyses
• Continuously improve and automate processes within Excel to increase efficiency and reduce manual work
• Provide clear, data-driven progress updates to senior stakeholders in a global environment

Wie ben jij

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2–5 years of experience as an Accountant, ideally post-university
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits/credits and balance sheet mechanics
• Advanced Excel skills are essential: XLOOKUP, Index formulas, filtering functions, Power Pivot
• Experience with Power Query (Excel / Power BI) for handling and transforming large datasets
• Experience in international, multi-entity environments is preferred
• Background in a Big Four firm (EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG) is a plus
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or JDE is beneficial
• Fluent in English and French
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a structured way

Hour rate indication for this interim role is €70 - € 80 excluding VAT.

To support the resolution of accounting backlogs, we are looking to hire an interim finance professional with great Excel experience, preferably within large, international, and multi-entity environments and a good command of the French language.
