Functieomschrijving Technical Application manager Interconnects Introduction: TenneT is Europe’s first cross-border grid operator for electricity. For the team that maintains the cross-border connections we are looking for a Technical Application manager Interconnects What is your role as a Technical Application manager Interconnects? • Design, develop, and maintain robust cross-border processes using Ansible, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, security, observability, and scalability. • Containerize and deploy workloads to Kubernetes clusters using best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, Certificate management and fault tolerance. • Implement comprehensive test coverage, including unit, integration, and system tests to ensure code quality and stability. • Diagnose and resolve issues uncovered during testing or reported in production, with an emphasis on root cause analysis and sustainable fixes. • Continuously improve codebases, deployment pipelines, and team practices through proactive suggestions and hands-on implementation. • Collaborate actively in design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a strong engineering culture. • Participate in periodic standby/on-call rotations, approximately once every two months, to support mission-critical services during off-hours. Profile • You bring knowledge of and have proven experience in Ansible development with focus on secure solutions. • You have experience in Python • You have experience with SQL database platforms, preferable Oracle RDBMS • You are interested in learning or have experience with VMware or Kubernetes • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab and modern DevOps practices (e.g., GitOps, observability, ECK/Elastic, auto-scaling). • You have experience in Agile methods such as Kanban and Agile/Scrum and are comfortable working in an agile, cross-functional team and taking ownership across the application value chain. • You have strong communication skills and enjoy collaborating across disciplines; English fluency is required, Dutch is a plus. • Willing to participate in a night-time standby/on-call rotation (approximately once every two months) to support business-critical systems • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field (e.g., engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science). Additional Info: In principle, TenneT is looking for a senior candidate. However, they would also be open for a Junior profile with a few years of relevant experience, if the candidate is open to enter a direct employment agreement with TenneT after the initial hiring period. The pay rate for a junior candidate should be in lign with pay grade 7.
