Senior Analyst Rail & Planning

Position description:
In this position you will support the planning and coordination of rail transportation activities across Europe. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient transport planning, managing disruptions and maintaining smooth rail operations. Working closely with Supply Chain, Operations and external logistics partners, you will contribute to delivering reliable transport solutions while continuously improving planning processes. In this position you will report to the Manager Supply Chain Rail & Barge.
Key responsibilities:
• Plan and coordinate rail transport flows across Europe;
• Coordinate train schedules and secure transport capacity and slots;
• Monitor daily rail operations and respond to delays, disruptions and replanning activities;
• Maintain and optimize planning systems and operational transport data;
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and logistics partners to ensure efficient transport execution;
• Participate in operational and business review meetings;
• Identify opportunities to improve planning processes and operational performance;
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain organization.
Required skills and experience:
• HBO Bachelor's degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field;
• Experience within logistics, transportation planning or supply chain is preferred;
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to maintain overview under pressure;
• Experience with transport planning and logistics coordination;
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and affinity with planning systems;
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
• Problem-solving mindset with resilience and a proactive attitude;
• Ability to prioritize, organize and work accurately in a dynamic environment;
• Good command of English, both written and spoken;
