Assignment:

Vermaat is working with Macaw on a co‑developed Microsoft Fabric data platform. The initial MVP has been delivered, but requires finalization, hardening, and further rollout.

The assignment focuses on continuing and stabilizing the Fabric platform by combining data architecture responsibilities with hands‑on data engineering. The professional will take ownership of data model designand implementation using the existing Macaw Fabric framework, ensuring the solution is production‑ready and scalable.

The role is client‑facing and operates in close collaboration with Vermaat's internal data stakeholders and Macaw architects.

Required profile
Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect with strong Microsoft Fabric experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own data models for a Fabric‑based platform
• Implement data models hands‑on using an existing Fabric framework
• Work with medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver layers)
• Ingest and transform data from APIs and SQL Server sources
• Support / finalize Fabric CI/CD and deployment setup
• Independently translate requirements into technical solutions
• Operate in a client‑facing, co‑development setup

Mandatory skills

• Proven Microsoft Fabric experience
• Senior‑level data modeling & architecture capabilities
• Strong hands‑on data engineering background
• Experience working independently in complex data platforms
• Comfortable aligning with senior stakeholders
